ISU Joins Forces with UMC, Yieh United, and ASE to Build Future Career Pathways through Internships
As higher education shifts toward a seamless integration of academic learning and professional application, ISU has developed a systematic career cultivation framework, creating a direct path for students to transition smoothly from campus to the workforce. At the heart of this initiative is the Career Development Center, which serves as a vital hub connecting industry leaders with emerging talent through its long-standing series of internship recruitment sessions. This internship-centered strategy aligns perfectly with ISU’s comprehensive talent development blueprint, enabling students to grasp industry demands early while providing enterprises with a steady pipeline of top-tier talent. By fostering these connections, ISU not only opens new horizons for its students but also establishes a win-win model for industry-university collaboration.
This semester, the Career Development Center joined forces with industry leaders, including United Microelectronics Corp. (UMC), Yieh United Steel Corp., and Advanced Semiconductor Engineering (ASE), to host internship recruitment sessions for the 2026 academic year. Through direct engagement with corporate representatives, students gained comprehensive insights into internship structures, job responsibilities, and future career blueprints. This firsthand access empowers them to accurately gauge industry trends and skill requirements well before graduation. These initiatives not only sharpen students’ strategic thinking regarding their careers but also enable enterprises to secure top-tier talent early in the pipeline, creating a highly efficient matching process. Furthermore, ISU recently invited TSMC to host recruitment on its campus, providing on-site resume clinics and face-to-face interviews to bring the hiring process directly to the campus. Another annual highlight is the large-scale Campus Job Fair held in late March, which brings nearly 100 enterprises to the university to offer diverse vacancies and immediate interview opportunities. By facilitating a seamless transition from internships to full-time employment, ISU is effectively constructing a high-speed, competitive pathway into the professional world.
The success of ISU’s talent cultivation continues to earn widespread acclaim from the business sector. In 2026, the university secured a prestigious double victory, being named the “Favorite Private University among Employers in Southern Taiwan” by 1111 Job Bank, and claiming the top spot for “Southern Taiwan’s Most Favored Private University for Graduates and Interns” in Global Views Monthly’s annual rankings. ISU attributes this recognition to the high regard employers hold for its educational outcomes, as well as the outstanding performance of its students and alumni across various industries. Whether during internships or as full-time professionals, ISU graduates have consistently earned a strong reputation for their alma mater through their professional competence and dedication. To address the rapid shifts in modern industry, ISU employs a multi-track talent cultivation strategy that integrates curriculum innovation, state-of-the-art facilities, and deep industry-university collaboration. This approach ensures that students move beyond theoretical learning to gain hands-on experience with high-end equipment and participate in real-world application scenarios, connecting them with the forefront of industrial technology. Through these immersive programs, ISU is effectively cultivating job-ready professionals who possess the skills to hit the ground running and lead in the workplace immediately upon graduation.
Recognizing the dawn of the AI era, ISU proactively launched its AI education strategy in 2018. The university pioneered the “X+AI” interdisciplinary innovative courses, where “X” represents core professional expertise and “AI” symbolizes the engine for digital transformation and innovation. Building on this foundation, ISU introduced the “X+AI 2.0 Theme-based Course Clusters” in 2025, elevating the educational model from “Learning AI” to “Learning with AI.” This advancement significantly strengthens students’ capabilities in cross-domain integration and practical applications. In Global Views Monthly’s 2025 University Survey, ISU delivered an outstanding performance in both AI development strength and sustainable institutional operations, earning the title of the “Most Promising Private University.” From forward-looking strategic planning to continued leadership, and from curriculum innovation to real-world industry practice, ISU is dedicated to nurturing professional talent across all fields. By empowering every student to gain a competitive edge in the AI era, ISU is opening doors to a more promising and resilient career future.
