About the Department of International Media and Entertainment Management

Historical Evolution

The department was established in 2011 as one of the departments of the International College of I-Shou University, originally named the Department of Entertainment Business Management. In response to global changes in the entertainment industry and job market demands, it was renamed the Department of International Media and Entertainment Management in 2021, with the goal of cultivating professionals in entertainment and event management with a global perspective.

Department Overview

The department is AACSB accredited and offers all-English instruction. It primarily develops two professional fields: “Film and Television Entertainment” and “Event Planning”. Its professional scope covers media and interactive entertainment businesses and their management, broadly interpreted as entertainment business, marketing media, communication technology, enabling students to understand entertainment media and their related technology applications. “Film and Television Entertainment” mainly cultivates international film and television entertainment talents, including production and post-production management, media production and marketing, film and television entertainment industry planning, popular culture, performance and arts industry management, etc. “Event Planning” mainly cultivates international entertainment event planning management talents, including public relations planning, digital advertising and marketing, MICE management, tourism and leisure event planning, etc. The department has a gaming center, and gaming management courses can be certified with the class. Professional courses are taught by teachers with many years of industry experience.
