Welcome to the Department of Hospitality Management at I-Shou University. I-Shou University is one of the most well-known academic institutes and was selected as one of the most welcome by industries in the Common Wealth magazine in 2007. There will be no worry for parents to hand over your kids to I-Shou University because you will see their significant maturity and their skill development followed by finding an ideal job upon graduation.
The E United Group which our university is affiliated with has opened two brand new hotels-E-Da Royal Hotel and E-Da Skylark Hotel. With such advantage, our program will arrange for students to work in both hotels for practical training after their fundamental training in our program to enhance their practicum experience. I-Shou University is the only university which integrates campus into community in Taiwan. Being located around the graceful virescent environment and new buildings, I-Shou University provides you with a place you can enjoy your campus life and enrich yourself with plentiful clubs or societies. You will establish your own hospitality department institute, and learn the abilities of how to organize such organization and independence. Even though there is an old saying, Carpe Diem, and this University provides you with an opportunity to grow, you students still need to show your own discipline to make your parents feel at ease. Our program wishes every freshman can focus on both learning and activity, and actively enhance your own language ability to become the world-wide hospitality personnel. Our program also believes you will find your brothers and sisters here, and discover your own interest and position yourself through teamwork and professional communication skills. Furthermore, please take your time well thinking the coming choice of specific area in the second year. You might also choose cross-college program to broaden your view. Our program will arrange for you to take on-campus practical courses, and provides you with an opportunity of working in a five-star hotel. The purpose of such arrangement is to teach you with scenario and also emphasize the cooperation with industries. In the third year, our program will arrange for you to undertake off-campus practicum training by cooperating with domestic and international hospitality industries for six months. Such arrangement could allow you to experience hospitality-related job contents and real operations, and to discover your future interests as well. With aforementioned arrangements of emphasizing both theories and practicum, you can increase your competitiveness in the future hospitality career. Junior year will be quite busy and solid. Therefore, to become a professional hospitality managerial personnel, you must plan ahead for a higher education or employment in the future. Our program provides you with the courses of research method and data analysis in the second term of the third year, and selected hospitality topics in the first term of the fourth year. Such arrangement is to help students enhance thinking logistics and analysis through skill report or bachelor thesis. In the second term of the fourth year, our program also provides the course of banquet management and practicum, allowing students to present what they have learned during these four years to their parents. Our program will be looking forward to seeing these parents to spare their time admiring the artistries of their kids’ growths.
