Q: How is the total number of International Scholarship recipients evaluated?
A: 1. International students can apply for international scholarships in their second academic year; the number of scholarships given per year is determined by the budget allocated for the school reward that year. In the mean time the number of scholarships allocated for the International students is 30% out of all the international student.
2. There are two application times for the international scholarships, one for the Fall semester and the other for the Spring semester. The students enrolled in the Fall semester must apply for the scholarships within the deadline, they must not apply for the scholarships allocated for the Spring semester. The same regulations applies to the students enrolled in the Spring semester, they must apply within the deadline and must not apply for the scholarships assigned for the Fall semester.
Eligibility
1. For both master and PhD students that have completed one year of study, and he/she is in the top twenty percent in the class, studies no less than 6 academic credites per semester.
2. The applicants must score 80 and above in their code of conduct, and with no major misdemeanor or demerits.

Q: When do the International students know whether they have received the scholarship?
A: Due to international students returning home for the summer break, the fall semester returning students can go to the Office of International Affairs and fill out the application form for the international scholarship in the first week of June. The Office of International Affairs shall help with the application procedure once the academic score is issued in July. After the scholarships review meeting, students should know the results no later than the end of July.

Q: Which scholarships foreign students can apply?
A: As rewards, ISU now have a variety of scholarships for different qualifications of foreign students to apply. In recent years, the foreign students become more and more at ISU, we not only offer International Student Scholarships to foreign students, but also be fair to offer other scholarships for foreign students. Especially we have a list of application guidelines, foreign students have obtained academic year International Student Scholarships, can also apply other scholarships at the same time in ISU:
(1) the scholarships for excellent leaders at school clubs.
(2) sympathy-expression fees for emergency.
(3) the scholarships for students who are in straitened circumstances join public service in communities.
(4) gracious scholarships.
(5) to encourage the students to take English language test certifications outside the school.
(6) the scholarships for graduate students who attend international conference to have paper presentations.
(7) Xue-Wen Scholarship (some parts need self funding).

Q: Can students attend the graduation ceremony if they study from spring semester (They are supposed to graduate in January)?
A: Students who wish to join the graduation ceremony can attend the ceremony with delay graduated students in June at previous year.

Q. Are international students allowed not to get the health insurance in Taiwan?
A: It is compulsory for anyone who plans to stay in Taiwan for more than four months to apply and pay for the health insurance. The premium is NT$ 659/mon.

Q. Can students get discount in E-DA hospital?
A: Students can get 10% off of the registration fee in E-DA Hospital with their student ID.
