Current situation
The School of Medicine was established on August 1, 2019, and since then, it has recruited 30 high school students annually.
According to the policy of nurturing health professionals for rural areas (indigenous regions and district islands), 20 medical students were enrolled.
According to the training program of doctors for key medical departments (internal medicine, surgery, Ob-Gyn, pediatrics and emergency medicine) and the public medical service system, 10 medical students were recruited.
Philosophy of School
The purpose of the department is to cultivate medical students with the following abilities:
(1) Having basic and clinical professional qualities.
(2) Caring for the locality and being willing to participate in the rural health care service.
(3) Humanism behavior and social service enthusiasm.
(4) Having a macro global vision and lifelong learning ability.
The goal of the School of Medicine is to equip our students with enthusiasm for caring primary community medical system, medical specialties, and scientific research and development talents.
In order to achieve the goals and motivation of our department, the enrolled students of the department must have high school graduates with the enthusiasm for caring the society and the ambition to master basic medicine theories and skills, to become well-trained and high academic status physicians.
Direction of development
(1) The focus of the development of the department will not only end on the teaching of professional medical knowledge but also strengthen the humanities, society, law and ethics education.
(2) Cultivating medical professionals with advanced clinical and research capabilities and high humanities quality and innovative spirit.
(3) Combining with the E-DA Group's medical institutions, E-DA Cancer Hospital, E-DA Cancer Treatment Hospital, E-DA DaChang Hospital Strategic Alliance, and the relationship between the school's life sciences and medical engineering, and establishing a strong cross-disciplinary research team for modern Scientific assessment and research on various problems faced by medicine enables medical development to be improved through scientific research and improve medical standards in Taiwan.
(4) Establishing platforms and connections for clinical and academic research.
Goal of Education
The School of Medicine encourages our students with diverse developments. After graduation, in addition to applying for the National Examination of Medicine and becoming first-line physicians, they can also apply for master's and doctoral degree programs, go abroad to continue their studies and learn more advanced medical knowledge. Besides, it can also participate in medical-related biotechnology industries and other industrial business opportunities from a medical perspective and promote more benefits for society.
