Brief History
I-Shou’s General Education Center originated from General Education Committee of the Office of Academic Affairs. In August 2002, I-Shou’s president, Professor Shen-Li Fu, decided that to upgrade the quality of the general education General Education Center must be reintegrated and reorganized with the other academic and administrative departments and be established as a college-level center.
In August 2003, the former director, Professor Chi-Yen Shen, took on the task, and in April 2004 the Ministry of Education passed this integration. The current director, Professor Rey-Chue Hwang, has been striving to improve the curriculum of the General Education Center as well as liberal arts events, which are to extend the general education.
