EIASM Workshops & Conferences - Upcoming Events & Deadlines (Part 1)

9th Workshop on Top Management Teams and Business Strategy Research
Geneva, Switzerland, March 22-23, 2018

Keynote Speakers:
Albert A. Cannella, Jr., Mays Business School, Texas A&M University, USA | Guoli Chen, INSEAD, Singapore

Top executives are among the most important decision-makers influencing the strategy and performance of their organizations. The series of EIASM Workshops on Top Management Teams and Business Strategy was initiated as a specialized and focused forum where researchers can engage in constructive discussions about the relationship among Top Management Teams and the ability of firms to strategically respond to the challenges they face, as well as finding new opportunities for research collaborations.

33rd Workshop on Strategic Human Resource Management
Catania, Italy (Sicily), April 5-6, 2018

The objective of this annual workshop is to create a forum for the academic exchange of empirical qualitative or quantitative research in the area of strategic human resource management. Research in all stages (dissertation proposals, research in progress, and completed research) is welcomed.

Professor Angelo DeNisi of Tulane University will offer a keynote address at the workshop on the issues arising from the expanding use of cloud-based HR management systems and the data privacy concerns associated with this technology. He will also contribute to a "get published" advice seminar for young researchers during the workshop. As most of you are aware, Professor DeNisi is one of our field's most prolific researchers, former editor of the Academy of Management Journal, formed president of the Academy of Management, and currently sits on the editorial committees of most of the top journals in human resources, psychology, and management.

Due to the new format of the workshop and the specific keynote address, we would still welcome submissions of relevant abstracts/papers on the topic – please contact G. Michelante michelante@eiasm.be with your proposal.

1st Workshop on Entrepreneurship: Culture and Institutions  (NEW)
Warsaw, Poland, May 10-11, 2018

The workshop aims to contribute to a deeper recognition of a diverse phenomenon of entrepreneurship by concentrating on its cultural and institutional facets, antecedents, and consequences. We aim at creating a discussion forum for research revolving around the topic of entrepreneurship seen from a cultural and institutional stance. The idea behind this workshop is to continue discussion on the role of entrepreneurs in societies, as well as the influence that culture, social norms and institutions have on entrepreneurs’ attitudes, perceptions, choices, and actions.

The workshop welcomes a wide range of topics connected with the social aspects of entrepreneurship and culture.

Submission deadline for 5-page extended abstracts: February 15, 2018

MSAR 2018 - Manufacturing & Service Accounting Research Conference
 (previously named MAR)
Olso, Norway, June 15-16, 2018

The Oslo-2018 MSAR conference continues and evolves themes established in previous conferences, and (as the new name of the event implies) explicitly acknowledges and addresses the service dimension within the business environment as a relevant area for the accounting research perspective of the Conference.

For the Oslo-2018 MSAR conference, we specifically encourage papers on the use of technology within or in combination with business analytics and control & performance measurement systems.

The conference will consist of an opening session on business-analytics, provided from a practitioner and a scholarly perspective, and conceptually framed by a reputed, academic guest speaker. Academic papers are presented in concurrent sessions with all papers having a discussant. There is a dedicated track for PhD students and early-career researchers, with selected discussants from various editorial boards.

Full papers intended for presentation at the concurrent sessions or the PhD and early-career track should be submitted by: March 29, 2018

2018 Innovation and Product Development Management Conference (IPDMC) - 25th Anniversary Edition

View an informative video highlighting the IPDMC and its achievements...

On the occasion of the 25th edition of the Innovation and Product Development Management Conference (IPDMC) – we would like to mark this special anniversary:

On the first two days of the event, we will follow the established annual conference format with presentations of accepted papers. (After a rigorous double-blind review process, 220 submissions have been accepted for presentation at the 25th IPDM Conference.) The scale of the event will make it possible for everyone to engage with a significant proportion of papers; familiarity with our collective achievements and contributions should enable discussion at the conference dinner about the opportunities for continuing development of the field of Innovation and Product Development Management.

We will build on those discussions on Wednesday, June 13 (our celebration day). Together we will look forward, reflect on achievements, and challenge the continuing development of the field through active engagement in various formats with industry speakers and academic colleagues. We will explore emerging research themes and associated opportunities for both engagement with and contribution to practice. A variety of colleagues will lead our discussions on research quality, doctoral education, academic career development, and collaborative research approaches. Throughout the event, we will look to ways in which we can sustain our community and enhance our contributions to theory and to practice.

To conclude the 25th IPDM Conference, on Thursday, June 14, our local hosts are organising a one-day tour to Coimbra and its very prestigious University, including a lunch in a typical restaurant.
